But one particular assignment almost did. The F/16 weekly assignment. I thought, ok, there’s no way my PnS camera can get that kind of aperture. My Canon Powershot A710IS has an aperture range of f/2.8 to f/8 only. I was about to decide to skip this assignment when I remembered I read somewhere that the apertures values of a PnS camera have an equivalent value to the aperture values of a DSLR. That an f/2.8 in a PnS camera is not f/2.8 in a DSLR. I googled and finally stumbled into this article by a PRO photographer.

I’ll avoid his technical explanation and get down to the equivalent values.

Please don’t argue with me on the technicalities but instead check out the article here. I also remember Bryan Peterson mentioned this in his book, Understanding Exposure.

Anyway, I’m glad I found that article. This means I can still join the latest assignment! Wohoo!
